Hello Everyone,
My name is Esther Isobe. I graduated the Foot Reflexology program in 2011 and the Ear Reflexology program in 2012. I
studied and accomplished professional, adequate training with a fantastic teacher and mentor, through the Canadian school of Reflexology. I love being able to provide a service that is both relaxing and healing to people of all ages. I have been interested in holistic and therapeutic living and wellness from a young age and I continue to expanding my knowledge in these fields. I was introduced to reflexology only a few years ago while attending night classes at the University of the Fraser Valley. The teachers I had were certified reflexologists themselves and that was where my journey began. Since then I haven’t looked back and I do take and will continue to take refresher and upgrading reflexology courses as there is always something you can learn and add new things to my practice.
My goal is to provide you with a relaxing, and stress free healing environment.
What Reflexology is:
It is an ancient holistic therapy, and the aim of reflexology is to treat the whole person and induce a state of relaxation,
balance and harmony, which will encourage the natural ability of the body to heal itself. It is a science and an art based on the principal that there are reflexes in the hands, ears and feet, which correspond to every part of your body. By applying pressure techniques with your thumb, fingers and hand, reflexology will reduce tension, promote relaxation, increase circulation, and help bring the body back to balance.
How Reflexology works:
Reflexes are connected to your nervous system. By using pressured thumb and finger techniques, working on a foot (hand, or ear) triggers
a reflex action in a corresponding part of the body. This action is simply to relax tension which reduces vascular constriction and allows the blood and nerve
supple to flow more freely. Oxygen and nutrients make their way to the areas where needed and your body is then able to repair itself unhindered by the effect of stress.
"Since its development during the course of the 20th century from 'zone therapy theory' in the USA,
reflexology has always been holistic in nature, treating an individual as more
than just a set of symptoms, and well-being as much more than a mere absence of
illness". -Ann Gillander
