Sara’s husband and two young children continue to inspire her to learn patience, truthfulness, and compassion. She loves to garden and to cook with fresh local and organic ingredients.

Trevor Yinapalooza guy
Starting his journey ten years ago - upon a dare, it only took that first class and he was hooked. Growing up Trevor suffered from ulcerative colitis and found the stretching and compressing of his digestive track quickly relieved the symptoms associated with the disease. Trevor comes from a punk and skateboarding background and found similarities between the two vocations - a desire for a deeper connection of self and community, a penchant for finding physical/spiritual exertion and a general need for global change. He even started his own DIY studio in the center of the business district of Vancouver.Trevor would become a tour guide of the practice first completing his RYT- 200, then quickly moving in on other disciplines including Kundalini and Yin. He is now completing his RYT-500 with a focus on the Yin concepts of practice. Along the path he has developed his practice with the guidance of master teachers: Michael Stone, Seane Corn, Gurmukh Kaur Khalsa, Sarah Powers, Bernie Clark, Paul and Suzee Grilley, Janet Stone, Max Strom and all the inspiring mentors that made this journey possible - you know who you are!

Dayna Gabrielle Torvik
Dayna discovered yoga in 2007 after the birth of her son Tristan. She began her yoga teacher training as a way to increase her knowledge of yoga for her own practice. She had no idea it would become her life’s passion and work. Dayna completed hatha yoga and meditation teacher training at Free Spirit Yoga and Palates in 2013.
Dayna came to yoga after experiencing a lot of depression and anxiety in her own life and was looking for a way to understand the fluctuations of her own mind. Yoga was a revelation, not only giving her the space to be in these emotions but also the tools to understand what was behind these emotions and thought patterns.
Dayna believes that yoga and meditation are invaluable practices for anyone wanting to live a more open hearted and clear minded way of life. “Yoga is a daily opportunity to slow down and listen to your body, mind and breath. Without it I am caught up in my emotional response to my surroundings. With yoga I am able to choose my response to my day-to-day life.”In her classes, Dayna aims to create a space where each person can experience their own physical, mental and subtle self through flowing asana, pranayama practice and finishing with chanting and meditation to connect with that deep calm space within, the true nature of self, and the ultimate goal of yoga practice.

Julia
Julia began her journey with yoga in 1999 and immediately fell in love with the practice. After her stay at the Yasodhara Ashram in BC, Julia decided to further her study of yoga and travel to the land where yoga originated. In 2004, she travelled to India studying yoga at various ashrams in Rishikesh, Dharmasala, and throught the foothills of the Himalayas. During her four month stay, she had the opportunity to study yoga, meditation, take a course on chakras, volunteer at a Tibetan refugee school, and chant with the Dalai Lama. After practicing yoga for a number of years and realizing the impact it made in her life, she simply had to share this amazing experience with others. Julia became a certified yoga instructor in 2005 at the Sivananda Ashram in Quebec. Julia challenges students to explore themselves with an open heart, an open mind, and most importantly, self acceptance. What she enjoys most about teaching is how much she learns from the students and the inspiration she receives from watching them grow in their yoga practice. She is fluent in ASL (American Sign Language) and has 13 years experience working with children. Julia's goal is to continue to make yoga accessible to everyone. She is happily married and a mother to 2 beautiful children. She is continually grateful to the universe for all it has provided to her.
